If you could sum up your day in 3 words with no explanation: A whole moment
Okay now the juicy stuff…
Our approach to planning the wedding was… organisation. We began with a rough idea on budget and what we were willing to spend on certain elements vs what we thought it would cost - I feel like this definitely helped in telling ourselves what we found important for our day and what we didn't mind too much about. Once the budget was sorted we narrowed down to the style of venue, content capture, and styling we wanted.
Looking back on the day we are so glad that we… had an AMAZING On the Day Wedding Coordinator! Coming from a background working PR across events, this was something I knew we needed, however Rory needed to be convinced. Planning a wedding at a DIY venue, you have only individual vendors to speak to about each individual element however it can be hard to see the vision all coming together. Safe to say once the day was done, Rory completely understood the importance of having one!
The most unexpected part of the day was... how calm we felt at the altar. As I begun walking down the aisle, I became nervous, but as soon as I was at the end - everything was fun and relaxed.
My inspiration for my hair and make up… was Hailey Bieber. We love a natural, dewy look. The 'bridal' vibe isn't for me, and I wanted to ensure I was comfortable all day and night and could look back at photos and feel like myself.
When I look back on the day now I feel…. so incredibly happy. I'm one to definitely stress about the small things, if they don't go back to plan, but on the day you really do let it all go and feel so lucky and happy in every moment. I'm also glad that we did all the things we wanted to do for our day - we get to look back forever on those memories now!
A word of advice to new brides would be… take in every moment on the day! Take moments away from everyone with your partner and try to be hyper aware of everything going on around you so your memory is clear and you get to keep the most special memories!
My ASTON Bridal moment was special because… it finished the formalities and became a party. When I changed into my Aston Miranda, I wanted to make it a moment, so naturally I decided to cut my hair mid way through the wedding to compliment the look.
